Israel Uses AI to Upgrade its Public Alert System

Civil defense authorities in Israel have been working to improve the alert system depended upon to get people into shelters before incoming projectiles hit. AI is playing a key role in improving that alert system. During the June 2025 war with Iran that lasted 12 days, any incoming missile led the city-wide alert system to sound and send residents scampering for cover. Oracle Lays Off Thousands, Ramps Up AI Spending

American tech firm Oracle is letting go of thousands of its employees as the company ramps up its investment in AI to compete with other Big Tech companies like Amazon and Alphabet in the cloud computing segment.
