AI, Extended Reality Successfully Tutor Surgical Trainees Without Supervisors
Researchers at Mount Sinai have demonstrated the possibility of training surgical students by leveraging an AI algorithm coupled with extended reality headsets. The 17 students in this study attained surgical success without a tutor being involved in their instruction. This novel research received highly positive reviews from the students who participated in the study and tested how well the deep learning model worked.
