Recent weeks have seen the news dominated by reports of AI agents going rogue and hacking into sites and systems outside the controlled testing environments created by AI labs like OpenAI and Anthropic. How this realization that the government ought to have a say in the innovations of AI labs before they are released evolves will be closely watched by AI titans like Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) since any regulations passed could have direct impacts on how their operations are conducted going forward.
