As that safety information is shared and translated by each end-user, there is a likelihood of inconsistencies or dilutions of key information during the translation process. Duplication also increases, interoperability suffers and traceability declines.

Overall, functional safety becomes easier to scale as semiconductor products become more sophisticated with each subsequent generation released. Everyone benefits in such an environment, so it is necessary for the entire industry to work together to come up with a uniform language on all matters connected to functional safety.
